rooms are about being a part of nature, so our bathroom needs to carry this theme through. It’s not going to be all bright and shiny, on the contrary, it may
look a little weather beaten, but it has aged with grace and dignity. We want our bathroom to have a simple
design, not full of clutter; we aren’t trying to impress anyone, we are going to create a soothing quiet
environment that suits our personality and that out family can relax and be comfortable in.

Our perfect bathroom design is going to be more white than black. A subtle black and white
shower curtain, perhaps a black and white toile design or a black and white damask shower curtain that
becomes the focal point of the room. We then use other
black or black and white accessories and accents to bring to bring the room together and complete the
design. We also like to use different textures
to create areas in the bathroom that focus attention on a particular area, or away from an area.

Our suggestion here is to focus your design attention on the bathtub and your storage
cabinets. If you have the budget for a new bathtub, it’s
hard to beat an old style claw foot tub to create an old country look and feel. If you are going to keep the
old tub, think about adding a few country style appliqués to the tub or a few accessories around the tube to give it a country feel.
You can also buy stencil designs that you can use to create wonderful looking designs on the outside of the
tub with just a little paint and a few minutes for your time, even f you aren’t an artist. If you have existing cabinets, and a little time, you can also buy a
little more paint and paint them white, or create a faux finish or distressed look.
Bathroom Decor Accessories
Here is one last easy tip to help you complete the country design look for your bathroom. Take
a look at the handles on your bath, shower and sink. Are they “country”, or do they look more
modern. It’s easy to find new handles online like antique porcelain m pewter or with satin finishes that
